Foxconn Apologizes for ‚Technical Error‘ Resulting in Worker Protests


Apple supplier Foxconn has apologized for a 'technical error' that resulted in violent worker protests this week, reports BBC.
Last month, a COVID lockdown resulted in numerous workers breaking out the facility to go home. Foxconn then launched a recruitment drive to find new workers with promises of generous bonuses.
This week protests broke out after workers claimed their contracts were changed so they "could not get the subsidy promised." There have also been allegations that workers were quarantined without food.
